They say you don't dream of strangers,
but I've dreamt of you like a saint dreams of a better world.
Your pale skin and dark hair reminds me of the moon
and all that surrounds it.
I met you for the first time, every time.
It took me a while to accept that it can't stay winter forever,
and simply locking the door
couldn't keep you from leaving at night.
They say you can't relive the past,
but I've lost you in so many battles I was never meant to win.
It took me a while to see that wind can't be held,
and simply locking you inside of my heart
couldn't keep you from changing.
They say, they say…
but I'm tired of what they say.
There's a stranger leaving my bed,
but I know I know those eyes from somewhere.
